About the event

Do you ever feel overwhelmed, that everything is going to come crashing down and that you will be revealed as less than who you really are?

Impostor syndrome is a phenomenon where people who are highly competent feel like complete Frauds. They believe that their accomplishments happened because of luck or that they are a failure despite evidence of their abilities and success. The good news is that impostor syndrome is a feeling, not a life sentence and it can be changed and altered! Learn strategies you can use every day to pivot away from the impostor syndrome and live the life you want.

The session will explain why people often doubt their abilities and find it hard to enjoy their successes. It will also show the links to perfectionism and self-handicapping strategies such as procrastination, avoidance and overcommitment.

At the end of this session you will:

You know what the latest psychological research tells us about the imposter syndrome is and how it operates.

Realise how widespread imposter feelings are and why highly successful people can feel like frauds

Be aware of evidence-based strategies that reduce imposter feelings
